The Harker School Upper School

Requirements

• Create a Ravenna application and submit the preliminary application and $100 nonrefundable fee; a fee waiver is available for financial-aid applicants.
• Submit the student essay and activities form; complete the interview, activity session, and parent or guardian Kira video.
• Request recommendations from the current English teacher, math teacher, and principal or counselor; Harker accepts only these three recommendations.
• Request current-year and prior-year school records directly from the current school.
• Submit ISEE or SSAT scores taken after August 1, 2026 by January 5; Harker considers only the first submitted score and evaluates applications holistically before reading scores.

How applications are reviewed

• Every application component is reviewed holistically; no single item determines the decision.
• The review considers academic readiness, character and integrity, community engagement, and the potential for a constructive family-school partnership.
• Testing is one factor, and readers first assess the application without seeing scores.
