Requirements

• Submit the preliminary application and fee or waiver, student materials, family Kira video, and activities form.
• Complete the required student visit and interview, STAR assessment, and writing sample.
• Request current and prior school records and recommendations from the principal or counselor, current English teacher, and current math teacher.
• Local applicants must take Menlo’s STAR; applicants outside the area may submit ISEE or SSAT scores instead.
• Submit TOEFL results if the applicant’s current school does not teach in English.

How applications are reviewed

• The holistic review considers academic performance, transcripts, recommendations, written responses, activities, and video and in-person interviews.
• Assessment results add context and do not replace the full application review.

• September 1, 2026Application opens.

• January 31, 2027School records and recommendations due.
• March 1, 20272026 tax documents due for aid applicants.
